This ancient technique has played an important part in Indian life for nearly 4,000 years. A head-massage is part of the standard service provided by barbers in India (this is often referred to as ‘Champi’). It is believed to preserve the body’s life force (Prana) and a powerful method of relaxing and rejuvenating the body. It is part of the Ayurvedic system of health.
Indian men and women practice regular head massage to help combat hair loss due to hypertension, poor circulation, serious illness and even the aging process.
If you have always wanted to learn more about it and also to learn some of the massage sequences and techniques, then this is the workshop for you!
In this introductory workshop we will look at:
- The history of IHM
- The benefits of IHM
- Working with energy and chakras
- Contraindications
- Meditation
- Demonstrating and teaching you some of the IHM massage routines to help relaxation, well being and to encourage your own self healing.

One Day Workshop £50 per person
Half Day or Evening Workshop £25 per person.
